Recently I had an engineer out to move our dish that had been damaged in bad weather. When leaving he mentioned Sky were adding Sky Sports and Cinema on a trial for 2 months. I completely forgot about this but now I can see both on next months bill for full price.
Whats the best way to go about this? previous posts seem to suggest I need to ring and give Sky 31 days notice. Is that still the case, for something we didn't ask for? Its now within 31 days you see.
Also, contract has just expired so will be thinking about renewal / cancellation, if I were to renew is there anything I can do to stop this happening again. Seems like a faff for no reason.
thanks

Yes. To remove part of your Sky Q/+ TV package you need to give 31 days notice. You may be able to remove it from your My Sky account at
https://www.sky.com/mysky/tv/tv-packs
otherwise you can either call Sky or use the messaging service to cancel this

You were given a free couple of months as an incentive to like the additions and keep them. The onus is on the customer to cancel the trial before being charged.

Re: Trial Packages
The Website or App does't show any way to cancel unfortunately.
Find it very sketchy that any company could add items to your bill without consent and force you to ring them to cancel. Nevermind how long that will take. Can imagine how many households this was applied to, and how many will end up paying. Plus what stops them doing it next month for something else.

Re: Trial Packages
You say Sky added this without your consent but you certainly knew about it

Perhaps you weren't forceful enough in declining the offer before the engineer left.

Re: Trial Packages
You've completely missed the point. There was no offer. Alerting somebody after adding something, isn't consent.
Nevermind.
