Totally ripped off

Been a loyal Sky Customer for 26 years, now that my monthly bill has gone over £100, due to the price increase in April.

I've thought enough is enough and I'll cancel.

I got in touch with online chat and explained I was leaving due to cost.

They put me onto retentions and offered me a new 24 months deal.

I was a little over £100 but as I negotiated a few extras I agreed.

I have all the screenshots of the conversations,  as it felt too good to be true.

Now it's all started to unravel.

I asked for UHD, was told I could have it for £4 a month, discounted to £2.

Turns out I can't have UHD, as my box is not compatible, I did mention this at the time, but was told I didn't need one.

As I had a 24 month contract, I was worried about price increases, I asked obout this and was told not to worry, there will be no price increases till 2027. Again I have the screenshots of the conversation.

I've just has an email from Sky, notifying me of 'Price Changes' due to kick in June 2026, totalling £8 per month

I feel totally disgusted and let down, I fell that Sky sales staff will tell you anything just to get a deal,

surely they knew I would find out I can't get UHD and the Price would be going up(God knows how much it will go up in 2027?)

Can I open a complaint with Customer Services Online, or Shall I phone them tomorrow?

I'm within the cooling off period, only got the deal last week.

@m3kuk here are the options for raising a complaint: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

IMO calling them is probably the quickest way of getting the ball rolling, but if you want a copy of your complaint, use the Web form option and take a screen print before submitting it.

In the conversation you had did the advisor tell you the new nothly amount you would pay if they did is it for the amount you are now paying  or after the price increase.when I did Simlar exercise last month the advisor told me that she could reduce my monthly amount by £10, she then went in to great detail telling me what my new amount would be for April and May onwards and the may amount included the annual price increase. However with the new discount in reality I am not paying any more in fact less than I pay now the new discount on the items of my package that are going up are wiped out by the extra discount applied to it. I have extra discounts on items I did not have before,

That would be the annual April increase, delayed by 60 days as is typical for agreements made in the two months before April.

Unfortunately you were misinformed that the increase wouldn't apply.

Re: Totally ripped off

I've been in touch with Sky and it's now sorted, hopefully.

My box will not support UHD, so they have taken it off my bill.

THere's only 2 UHD Sky Channels so no big loss.

Promise of no price increase till 2027.

£10 Goodwill off next bill.
