Terrible problems ordering a replacement remote control for Sky Q.

I need a replacement remote control for my Sky Q Box (main). I have tried twice to place an order for one from Sky online. Each time it has accepted the order and promised to send one in 5 working days. Minutes later,  I receive a text telling me they are unable to process my order and to phone an 0344 number. I then tried calling the number. It accepted my order and promised to send it in 3-5 working days. A few minutes later, another text is received again telling me they are unable to process my order and asking me to call exactly the same telephone number that I had just called! Beyond useless,

Anyone got any suggestions?!!

Buy one from a local store?   Amazon, Argos, Supermarkets etc.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Gosh, never thought of that! What a genius you are. How do you do it?

That was also  my first thought. They are £17.98 from Amazon but I thought I might get a better price going direct to Sky. Turns out they supply replacements for free, according to my research online. Unfortunately, none of the means for applying for one that they provide actually work, which is pretty silly. Better not to offer free replacements and hence my posting.

Re: Terrible problems ordering a replacement remote control for Sky Q.

The situation has changed. I had a gut feeling that I should try the automated telephone order line option again. My first, failed attempt was at about 5.30pm last night, so outside of office hours.  How that would affect an automated service is beyond me but I went with my gut feeling and it has paid off.

I have received an email from Sky confirming receipt of my request for a new remote and I'm told I will receive it within 3-5 working days. Eureka!
