Temporary moving home
I have got both broadband and stream (2 pucks) and will be shortly moving into temporary accomodation until our new build is ready. I plan to take Sky with me. the temporary accomodation (a caravan) does not have broadband capabilities but I have a really good 5G setup (used to work from there) so streaming is fine.
I appreciate, as I am still mid contract, I cannot cancel and will continue to pay monthly charges however I would like to continue to use the Sky streaming services in the temporary accomodation until our new build is ready (6-8 weeks hopefully). My questions are:
- do I need to notify Sky of temporary change of address, and if so will this allow me to continue streaming
- what do I do about the broadband side. I know I have to take my Sky supplied router with me (which I don't use) but given an, as yet uncofirmed moving in date, there is going to be a gap of 6-8 weeks between moving from current address to getting Sky to install their services in my new house.

Regarding your broadband service - i'm assuming that new occupants are moving into your current property and would likely transfer or start a new broadband service to that property. When they initiate the start of their service, that would likely trigger the cancellation of yours ( unless they happen to use an alt-net provider), as only one active connection can be setup to a property on the openreach network.

Yes if you moving your Sky pucks to different location you need to inform Sky of you temporary address as other wise Sky will start to make cages for using Sky stream from an address that not registered address of the your Sky stream service. Also if you are using 5g mobile data possably from you phone , though may have a unlimited data plan there also usualy a fair usage policy of the the amount of data you fairly use in a month. The fair usage amount using such devices is relatively smaller than a standard broadband setup. I seen post from other user using this type of service to view Sky stream that they had letters or emails from there service provider that they breaching the limit of the monthly fair use policy and if happens on regular basis the service provider can impose extra charges for this

Re: Temporary moving home
I set my router to 600gb of data as I have used the 5G service for some while now and stream quite a bit. Have come close to the limit as I approach the refresh date so will keep an eye on this. Thanks for the advice.
Oh an apparently if you believe it EE, who is my provider, 'may' reduce your speed from 5g to 4g whilst over the limits if you are a persistent limit exceeder.
