Telephone password

This is going to be a long one.

Was on the live chat with an agent yesterday to order a new viewing card for our sky q box, as its started to not recognise it. Ive followed all help and support instructions (reinserting card, restarting the box etc) and we got a new card delivered today. I put it into the box and it's still not being recognised.

I went back to the live chat and was told by the new agent that they were going to send out another replacement viewing card, and if that didnt work send out an engineer. I went to the social team to see if they could be any more help, and they said that it sounded like a box issue. They sent out a link to confirm our telephone password, but I have no idea what that is. I got it wrong 3 times, so they said I'd have to call.

I get that if I call up and say I can't remember it, they'll ask other questions to confirm the account details, but here's the problem. My mum is the account holder, but shes currently in hospital recovering from a brain aneurysm, and isn't in any condition to be answering questions over the phone. If I explain this to the person on the phone, will they still accept the information from me, or will I have to wait with a broken box until mum gets out of hospital?

Thanks for any help

Re: Telephone password

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

If you know the telephone password then usually they should talk to you.
