Standing order
Is there bank details for billing to pay by standing order? I find it safer and more convenient than direct debit and card for bills. I'm also two weeks into a fight with sky over a payment they've received and not added to my bill, this payment has not as they claim been returned to me either. Currently cancelled direct debit and refuse to give card details because the missing payment looks like fraud.

Re: Standing order
No. It has to be direct debit or continuous card payments. Cancelling the previous payment method will cause you to further problems.

Re: Standing order
Thanks. That's frustrating that they don't allow safer and convenient payment methods. I had to cancel direct debit [removed]

No, you chose to cancel it.
As noted, withholding payments isn't the best way to resolve the issue.

Re: Standing order
Cancelling your payment method is definitely not recommended. Not reinstating it is going to cause you additional problems. Your services will be restricted, you won't be able to call Sky, you wont be able to cancel, late payment fees will be added and eventually Sky could involve a debt recovery company which may affect your credit rating.

Out of interest - was this payment you are referring to a manual payment you made?

Re: Standing order
It was direct debit on the 16th of October it still isn't showing on my sky bill and the money has not been returned to my bank. I last got paid from work on the 16th it's a four weekly pay not monthly.

Sure, but we're referring to future payments...
Have you contacted your bank about it too?

But cancelling your DD will be withholding your November bill, which will be an issue. What you need to do is ensure you have raised an official complaint with Sky and let the process play out ( and the complaints process will take up to 8 weeks for Sky to resolve it).

Annoying, but Sky do not offer a matching payment option. You'll need to ensure appropriate surplus is maintained for when they do take payments.
For a failed collection from a DD they do reattempt after 10 days before interventions.
