Someone registered an account in my name and got me in debt what can i do

Hi someone has registered an account with my name and address and got me in debt? What can i do? when ive rang the debt collector company the email address they've said is made up

How have they done this have they signed up to Sky using your details ?

Have you reported this to the police ?

So they've basically used my name dob address for a credit check and then sky have signed them up and somehow fitted sky at there adresss which is bizarre I've been in touch with the please got a crime number but it's down to me to basically investigate it. So when I've have sky my details there's no recollection of any debt so they asked for the account number on the debt letter and the account number is at an address I've never lived at? I'm trying to pass this information on to Experian so they can check it and this could possibly then get removed from my credit file? Any help would be appreciated. Because I never lived at this address with that account number they won't let me access it.

You need to pass this information on to the police so your crime number can be updated. Whether the police act on it is their decision.

Police are aware they obvs gave me the crime number nothing they can do really? In my hands they've said to sort it it states on Experian website any ideas of fraud they will investigate it.
