Social Tariff Discounts - PIP

Hi

I am looking into social tariff discounts since struggling to pay my bill after April increases.
Currently I am on PIP benefits but there doesn't seem to be this benefit on the social tariffs list even though so many receive this.
I only have a basic package - Sky signature , Netflix with ads and broadband yet nearly £70 now and too much for me are there lower packages ?

Spoke to Sky and said can only reduce TV by £2.00 and would be locked into a 2 year contract now .But nothing on the broadband.They will only discuss further discounts when my plan up for renewal and the deals available at that time. I need to know how much the whole bill will be but there seems to be no clarity.

Been with Sky for 10 years but unfortunately might have to leave as increase too much and don't want to be in more debt.
Thanks Tia

@TiaMaria67 Sky's social tariffs don't extend to those on PIP, I'm afraid. See their help page here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-social-tariff

Hi Mark

Thanks for your answer . Think maybe under all the new changes to benefits Sky should take a look at this.

...and social tariffs do not apply to TV

Sky offer Essentials as the 'cheap' TV offering (£15pm retail) - but is essential freeview only - but ideal if you want to the box and recording facilities without Sky channels

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Sky and all other ISPs can only offer Social Tariff subscriptions where the DWP offers a portal through which eligibility can be verified, and currently that's only for the benefits specified.

@dumpster

You might have added to an irrelevant thread. The subject of this thread is the Social Tariff known as Social Broadband Basics whereby the Sky account holder needs to be claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance or Income based Employment Support Allowance and doesn't apply to any TV subscription.
