Sky kids, no thanks

I cannot get any sense from the sky chat. All I want to do is cancel sky kids before I have to pay. I tried it and didn't like it. Why is it so hard to follow a sky instruction to cancel before the 28th to avoid charges?

After persisting with the automated reply system I got through to a real person who was very helpful and cancelled the sky kids without fuss. My faith in sky has been restored.

Hi @Patriciaiscross   What exactly are Sky's instructions?  You normally have to give 31 days notice,  so does your trial period end on 28th October?

The instruction was that I had until October 28 to cancel to avoid any charges. No mention was made of a 31 day delay. It was a month's free trial because I am such a long-standing member and I took them at their word. It was the chat box that said she couldn't help because of the 31 days. I shall have to phone them tomorrow and hope that it doesn't take too much time from a busy day. I have always got on well with sky until this little hiccup.

@Patriciaiscross

You say it was a months free trial but the 28th October is still four and a half weeks away.

Basically if it's a months free trial then to avoid incurring any charges you would have had to cancel it the same day.

Sorry, I meant to save y September 28th. It began back in August when my grandchildren came to stay but was never even used, hence the month's trial. Stupid mistake, sorry.

@Patriciaiscross

Then unfortunately you'll incur some charges even if you cancel today whereby the 31 day notice period will start.

I think you would have to ask Sky on that.
