Sky VIP Paramount + Offer

Hi,

 

My sky VIP had an offer for a years free subscription to Paramount plus. I clicked on the link and followed the instructions, selecting the free annual offer, but now when i try to log in, it won't let me on to the app unless i sign up for one of the plans. 

Does anyone know if i have done anything wrong?

I did wonder if its becasue I'm only a sky broadband user, do you need a sky tv subscription plan for it to work? I couldn't see anything on the information to say that it is only available for sky tv users.

Check the T&Cs of the offer, usually Paramount + put in caveats like "can't be a current subscriber" or "can't have been a subscriber in the past 12 months" for the offer to work.

That is strange then.

 

I guess its possible that is isn't automatically applying the discount code, so you could try manually get the code when prompted on the paramount + payment page. 

 

I cant quite fully remember when i did this but think Paramount + will ask you to set payment details anyway, so that they can charge you when the free period ends. On the final payment page it should indicate the date that Paramount + will start the billing which would be in the future after the free period has ended.

I did the payment part, and set up a payment through PayPal and it said it would renew June 2026.

So now I'm also concernes that next year it will still take a payment and I'm not able to access the account to stop it!

Thats standard practise for streaming services like Paramount + as they hope people forget to cancel before the end of their free trial period.

 

I think you should be able to go into your paramount + account now and cancel it and it will cancel at the end of the free trial automatically.

I have exactly the same problem.

Unfortunately it appears you cannot delete the account - you can only cancel once you have a subscription in place, and the free one I set up does not appear after you have given the payment details for future payment.

 

I have emailed Paramount+ to ask them to cancel the account and delete the payment details.

thank you for your reply. I think I will have to email paramount to cancel and delete my payment details.

I guess that the VIP offer is only avaiable if you have sky tv, so don;t know why they offered it me when I am a broadband customer!

Thank you for your reply, I think I will have to email paramount as they now have my payment details and I can't access an account!

I'm guessing this offer is only available if you have sky tv. Not sure why it was offered to me when I'm only a broadband customer!
