Sky Ultimate costs

So I'm currently out of contract in regards to my TV packages, but am happy to remain a Sky customer as I've had no real issues in the 8 years plus that I've had an account.

I'm willing to re-contract, but would like a bit of a cheaper monthly cost to do so.  Now, I see that if I was a new customer I can get Ultimate for £22 p/m for a 24 month contract, (yes I know it can go up, that is normal these days with providers of many services).  I currently pay £31.

I've been on the phone this morning and all they would do for me to reduce costs was to reduce my Netflix service to Standard with ads!

I can do this myself if I want, but I don't want that.  I understand new customer deals, but surely if I re-contract then I would have thought Sky would do me a deal as well?

Anyone else been in the same situation?

Cheers!

Renewal deals offers will vary based on the agent you happen to speak to, and could also vary based on the day of the week or the time of the month you call as well.

It may be worth trying to phone again in a few days and seeing if you are offered anything better. Alternatively you can call and asked to be put through to the retentions/cancellations team who MAY be able to offer you a better deal, again the experience of this will vary person to person this won't always lead to a better discount being offered.

Not always as discounts these days are harder to come by.

We see these posts everyday on here and especially at the time of year when the annual price rise emails and letters are going out so it is up to you to see if you can haggle a discount out of them.
