Im sure Im not alone in receiving the message "Important changes to your Sky Subscriptions", as detailed below. Is it naive to think this may be a price REDUCTION? I thought so - then why not state Price INCREASE Per Month?
I plan to contact Sky to confirm my cancellation charges!
Price Change Per Month £2.50
Effective from 24/11/2024
Sky Signature

If you are in a minimum term contract then you cannot cancel.

I CAN cancel whether its now or in the future, Im not tied in for life!. I presume you mean it will cost something to cancel but BT will pay up to £300 of those costs, for example.

EE (now the domestic branding for BT) will cover up to £300 of broadband early termination charges.
It's really important to note the difference between ISPs which are also television providers, as terms & conditions rarely span both product types because they are regulated very differently. Historically UK government has regarding broadband/telecoms as a critical service and subscription television as a luxury, and that's reflected in the laws relating to them.
As noted above, current Sky contracts permit early broadband cancellation through paying a penalty fee, but contain no such clause for subscription television.

And all firms have clauses for price rises and cancellations...

So you dont believe there's charges for terminating just Sky TV? I estimate £48.82/m for remaining contract based on having just Sky TV Package & Multiscreen; see below for charges PDF document:.
Monthly Early Termination Charge
If you end your contract on
or after 01/04/2024
Sky TV Package £33.82
Multiscreen (taken after 4 March 2020) £15.00

The link contains a table of charges that apply should Sky allow your early cancellation.

TimmyBGood stated "current Sky contracts permit early broadband cancellation through paying a penalty fee, but contain no such clause for subscription television" which could be interpreted as no subscription charge clause for me with TV only via Sky.

Had extensive online chat with Sky today but they won't budge on increasing prices. So I'm planning my exit after 22yrs! Bye Sky.

Yup, that's the annual increase.
...again by £4:33p on June 1st
Sounds like your minimum term expiring?
won't be letting them do this
If subject to a minimum term then you can't stop them. Once that term is expiring then you can either negotiate new discounts or give notice to leave.
