Sky Returns Harrassment. Demanding repayment

My partner is in charge of our sky bill and when we decided to cancel our sky in 2022 we were sent out packaging for our box but it never arrived. Due to us having a time limit for when to return I packaged up the items and printed off my own label from Royal Mail and took it to the post office. I don't think I included my account number inside however in hindsight. I kept the postage paper reciept for 100 days and felt this was an acceptable length of time and then disposed of it. 9 months after returning the sky items (tv box, WiFi box, remotes& cables) my partner has had a payment taken from his account approx £150 for the equipment. And we've just received a letter from BW Legal for £76 to be repaid to sky for the equipment. What can I do it's been so long since that the post office no longer have proof of postage on their system. Kicking myself that I didn't think to include the account number inside with all the equipment but assumed they'd link the box info to the account. We don't feel we deserve this harassment from them as we have returned the box& equipment. I've just had a baby and this is really stressing me out now as we've never owed money in our lives.

The  Sky Community messaging team often help resolve these return issues.

If you can find any postal receipt paperwork, photos and the like, it does help. But no worries if you do not, I'm sure the messaging team, below, will work with you to resolve.

I've escalated this to Sky and they should be in touch with you soon about it.
Look out for a message from Sky on your email and Sky Community private messages.
Look out for the blue chat bubble within your Sky community.

@Rebecca37

Your duplicate post has been removed to prevent repeated responses.

Hopefully the Messaging Team can assist your partner (as they are the account holder) but it may be that they've got to deal directly with the debt recovery company.

You should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.

This link explains what happens.
