Services
I paid my bill yesterday and it's still saying my service is restricted. I haven't even used sky for months now as my remote hasn't been working. I've ordered 2 new ones and I still can't get anything to work

Restrictions to services occur due to missed payments, they are automatically applied and agents cannot override the process, even if you’re told otherwise.
Sky won’t reinstate restricted services until the arrears have been paid and you’ve also set up a new continuous payment method. Until then any calls to Sky will only prompt you to pay.
Sky don't allow payment plans on overdue live accounts, nor will they consider promises to pay on or by a certain date.
If your payment is 2+ weeks overdue you will have to pay the next bill as well and if you’re in arrears for 56+ days Sky can fully terminate your subscription (but you’ll still owe the arrears).
If this is part of a credit agreement purchase (mobile or Sky Glass) non payment can see the credit agreement cancelled at which point the full amount becomes due in one payment.
Once your full payment has cleared and is in Sky’s account your services should be reinstated, but this may not be instant. Any payment you make over a weekend or on a Bank Holiday won’t be processed until the following week.

If you had your service restricted due to a non payment as well as paying what you owe in full you do also need to set up your payment method again.

What TV service do you have from Sky, so Sky Glass, Stream or Sky Q ?

After your services are back up and running check the basics, ie; fresh batteries, re-pairing etc and then if your Sky Q remote is definitely broken or faulty, if you follow this link it should allow you to do some more troubleshooting and then it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (I’m not sure if this is available to customers in the Republic of Ireland).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer / larger supermarket.
Meanwhile, if you have an android or Apple device with Sky Go you can possibly set up a virtual remote to control your Sky Q box. See this link which may help

Thank you I'll try those. I've just bought the remote today and it cost me over £20. I thought new batteries and everything and followed the steps to pair it which it told me to hold 1 and 3 for a few seconds but nothing was happening. I'll try the steps though
