Scam Email?

I've had 4 emails regarding a recent order with Sky, Sky Tv and Sky broadband and Talk to be exact, in my email my name. They look genuine and it's from sky email, I'm concerned as I've never bought anything from sky, no subscription or anything, has someone accidentally put their email wrong and it happen to be mine? Has anyone experienced anything like this. Thank you

@EmilyRose1

Do the emails address you by name or something like "Dear Customer"?

Are there any links they are trying to get you to click on?

Re: Scam Email?

@EmilyRose1 What's the senders email address? That is usually the key to telling if it's from the company or not. Scammers these days can make emails look official but when you look at their email address it's clear they are fake.

Re: Scam Email?

They have addressed the email as "hello Emily" and there are a few links at the bottom of the page if I want to add the email into my address book and another link for their helpline page,

@EmilyRose1 It is a genuine Sky email I think. I would ring them straight away to find out what is going on.

@EmilyRose1 I agree. This has the hallmarks of a scam in the making. The information here, although not directly relevant, may be helpful: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover
