Sales Call
I was called today by an outbound Sales Rep, he said he was calling to review my package as I'd recently removed Sky Cinema (I had).
He basically offered my a new 2TB Sky Q box (I have the 1TB) and an extra Sky Q mini box to use in another room with multichannel....here's the kicker, for absolutely no extra cost.
I questioned this, as I know Sky very rarely do much for free unless you are renegogiating your end of contract.
I pushed him on this, and only reason I did was because just recently I was offered Sky Cinema free for 4 weeks and then could cancel for no extra charge, but when I came to cancel they said an amount had been added onto my next bill. After about 10 different phone calls I eventually got the fee removed - it also happened to me with Sports promotion last year, hence why I'm sceptical.
After explaining this to the gentlemen he simply hung up and cut me off mid-talking. Very rude.
Has anyone else had this offer or think its a bit of a con? He said its usually £50 for the extra box then £15 a month, but I could have had it for absolutely nothing.

Re: Sales Call
@Mumbles125 If in doubt it's always best to say you'll call back. Then hang up and ring Sky to confirm they have called you. Their system will have a record of the call. In this day and age I never take someone's word. Far too many scammers out there.

Re: Sales Call
Thanks, I confirmed the number they called from with the Sky Help Team on Twitter, it was a genuine call.
I asked the person if I could think about it, and they said no as they are outbound only and there was no way I could get back in touch 🤣
I don't think it was a scam, I just think it was an extremely rude, target oriented sales rep who wanted his commission.
But I feel like I've been hoodwinked by Sky sales before over promos that are "free", and they turned out not to be

It's worth noting that numbers can be spoofed so scammers can make it look like they are calling from a legitimate number. Not saying it's the case in this scenario but it is possible.

That's correct. The Outbound Marketing team work outside of customer services and can't be contacted.
Any offer from Sky is subject to their usual requirement of 31 days notice to cancel. So, if you're offered, for example, one month's free Sky Cinema, you would have to give notice to cancel on the day you accept the offer to avoid being charged for the next month.

Re: Sales Call
Hi Mark
Yes, (for the free Sky Cinema promo) they told me I need to cancel at the end of the 31 days, I recorded the call and asked the agent to repeat several times, even including the dates I need to cancel. Alas, was false information.
But having been stung twice now in the last 12 months, Im very unlikely accept much for free from Sky outbound teams!
