SOCIAL TARIFF EMAIL SAYS I NEED TO RENEW IT OR LOSE IT

I HAVE BEEN ON SOCIAL TARIFF FOR OVER A YEAR HAD A EMAIL THAT SAID I HAD TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SKY AND RENEW IT OR GO BACK TO THE FULL PAYMENTS WHICH I CANT AND WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL SKY .AS ITS THE GOVERMENT PAYING WHY DO I NEED TO RENEW .

Sky have to be satisfied you're still eligible. The broadband part of the social tariff now lasts for 24 months and then reverts to the full cost but if you’re still eligible you will then need to re-apply.

There's no money transferred from the state to Sky: that would be hugely problematic.  ISPs are 'encouraged' by Ofcom to cut their profit margin in order to offer lower broadband pricing to recipients of qualifying benefits: obviously the ISP needs to periodically check that this still something they should be doing.
