SKY - In contract Annual Charge Increases

Whether Sky customers like it or not, Sky is going to have to fall in line with the recent OfCom change to in contract annual price rises. Most ISPs etc have already decided to implement the change ahead of the compliance date. Talktalk, for example, is making the change from RPI to fixed later this month. Sky is now something of an industry outlier.

If Sky offered a contract with known prices rises (rather than the up to 10% quoted to me by CS yesterday), then I might cancel my decision to cancel my contract.

Likely you'd end up paying more, as Sky will have to estimate the rate of inflation for the coming 2 years. They'll inevitably take steps to ensure they don't underestimate it.

I believe what is typically going into contracts across the industry is typically amounting to about a 10% annual pricing rise.

OFCOM always looking out for the consumers right 😏. This new OFCOM legislation is only going to make it harder for the inflation rate to remain at the BoE's 2% target going forward, likely leading to longer periods of these higher interest rates we are seeing.
