Sky don't need specific permission. They can take payment via any means they have recorded (ie; direct debit or card)

I do not have a direct debit with them

It appears you've previously provided Sky with your bank details. The T's and C's you read and agreed to state you should have either a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up.

No. There is no need to make unnecessary manual payments.

@Debs199 if you believe you have not set up a direct debit talk to your bank as they clearly believe you have authorised the payment  process.  See https://www.directdebit.co.uk/direct-debit-guarantee/

@Debs199  DD payments are not collected on a weekend, therefore the card details you've previously used to pay will have been used as per the T&C's you agreed to, which allow Sky to take payment from either a registered Direct Debit mandate or card.

It's not fraud as you've given Sky thoese details to allow payment to be taken.  Your options are to continue with card payments taken automatically or setup a direct debit.

@Debs199

If you have been making manual payments from a card then it could be that they have taken the payment automatically from you which they can do as the terms and conditions do state you must have a payment setup on your account t so they can do this and so you do not have to make these manual payments each month.
