Price

Hello,

has sky broadband already had their price increase this year?

I understand it's usually every spring.

also if they increase the amount regardless of the amount / percentage, can I cancel penalty free?

@Marcel84737

The increase for UK customers was in April. If you joined or renewed around about that time the increase may have been deferred for a number of months.

Re: Price

Thanks both. I heard this was some 10% rule whereby I cannot cancel if the increase is below that, is this outdated information?

OfCom changed the rules recently.

Now vendors either have to:

1) Set out price increases in monetary terms, e.g. Increases by £2 in April

2) Do not set out increases in advance but allow cancellation when they do

Sky have chosen option 2.  Trouble with option 1 is that vendors have had to 'guess' inflation and they've tended to be rather pessimistic so increases are likely to far in excess of inflation but at least there's certainty.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
