In case you’re not aware, this is a forum where customers help other customers with Sky related issues. You aren’t talking to Sky Customer Services here.
VIP status has little to do the negotiations for discounts at renewal.

There used to be, but not any more.
If you need to call Sky then if you already have a Sky Mobile or a Sky Talk landline call free by dialling 150, otherwise you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).
Similar to calling a lot of large companies the start will be an automated response which may try to send you back to the forum.

You are soooo right. As a New Customer i can get the Sky Stream package with multi room, ultra and Netflix for £ 64 a month.
As a Diamond Customer of 19+ years, after 45 minutes, 4 departments and 3 "thank you for your loyalty" comments by Sky reps, they can get the price down to £ 84 a month.
They then have the audacity to ask is that OK ?
I wonder how many people reply "yeah, I get it for my loyalty of 19+ years, I am delighted to take up your offer of paying £ 20 a month more than a new customer". Are they really that stupid ?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAll providers offer deals for new customers which are better than renewals. That's how they get you signed up. If you don't like the offer then leave but the same will happen with whatever company you move to in 18/24 months whereby it'll be cheaper to return to Sky.

Perhaps just realistic, knowing that new customers get preferential deals. Cancelling is the alternative.

I see you have evrything Sky, so maybe you believe your comments about "all companies do this".
All companies most certainly don't do this. Sure they have attractive offers for new customers, but existing customers then get other benefits the new customers do not. That way there is no channel conflict and everyone is happy. At EE, as a new customer you may get a better tariff than me, but EE look out for good deals for me with added benefits as a customer, so when I do a comparison, I don't feel hacked off.
Sky have achieved nothing other than antagonise me as a loyal customer and I still get what I am asking for as a "new" customer. So what have they achieved versus at what cost ?
