Possible security breach in the text chat service

I have been trying to contact someone [still havent] because someone was meant to connect me this morning.

I tried the text chat service - at some point [having provided lots of personal details] the agent asked me to enter bank details into website that does not appear to be attached to sky idavid.liveperson.net

When i challenged to provide a alternative they said there as none and now the convesation has died.

Not sure how i am meant to contact you - I am not paying you to talk on the phone to verify if someone is coming to an apointment you made.

Hey @BenWarren

Wlcome to the Sky Community Forum!

I understand why did you think that the third party link is suspicious. I just wanted to confirm that it's safe to use and Sky uses it for secure identification of customers. I hope this helps 🙂

Phishing attempts happing in text chat - be aware

Be careful using the text chat service that sky have - i did and at somepoint the agent tried to get me to put my bank account details into a non sky website.

When challenged they told me to ring a number that does not appear on skys website as well.

If you want to call you can find an authorised number via the 'need more help' link here: https://www.sky.com/help/home

Sky need to positively verify your identity before being able to discuss anything with you, which, no doubt is what the questions and the need to provide your bank account details were for.

Re: Possible security breach in the text chat service

Can someone in sky either contact me directly or in this form provide me with the contact details to which i can submit a data subject access request - when i asked your call centre they told me that there was nobody that could be contacted to do this and that there was no facility to do so.

Re: Possible security breach in the text chat service

This is really geeting ridiculours - first the call centre says tehre is no way of doing it and now you send me a link to a form you cannot submit.

There is a field here that is mandatory that asks for account number - but it is a drop down list with not values - so the form cannot be submitted.

Please provide me with a method to submit a data access request.

Is your Sky account linked to the Sky ID you've logged in with? Works fine for me.
