Package cost - too much? Pensioners Query
Hi,
This is on behalf of my elderly parent's who I firmly believe are being mis sold on a new package deal.
They are after the following
1) Basic TV- Essential
2) Sky Movies
3) 150mb fibre broadband
4) Phone with 24 7 calls
They are being quoted £90 or so which would rise to £130 after a certain period. This seem to me extremely high.
Does this seem correct?
Thanks.

For starters, you can't be mis-sold something that you haven't bought yet. Is that high? For a new customer, probably. For an existing customer and as a retention deal it's so so, Anytime calls are £18 alone so make up a disproportionate chunk of that. I presume the £130 figure is after the 24 month contract is finished (there will be annual April rises as well) so is immaterial really unless some discounts are for only part of the 24 month contract (in which case, just say no).
For new customers on Stream, that package (presuming there's no extras like UHD etc) is priced at £61pcm.
If one or both have mobiles then calls are usually free, if not you need to look at their mobile deals as well.
BTW, if that is a retention offer then it's likely not available anymore as they tend to be on the spot offers.

Also, Sky (like most companies) don't do discounts for pensioners I'm afraid.
