So...been chatting to Sky advisor via text because Live Chat seems to have disappeared.

I have now had a price for Sky Essentials+ with multiscreen for £29 a month on a rolling contract and can go back any time and upgrade,  if I realise, I have nothing to watch 🤣.

I have asked can I have Sky Signature instead of the Sky Essentials+, because I think that's a bit better choice.  Or even Sky Ultimate ?

They have gone for a Early lunch, so will continue the chat after.

That's very expensive for just Sky Q Essentials and multiscreen.

Re: Out of Contract...

Yes, I thought it would start at about £15, maybe the extra cost is my 3 multirooms ?

No.  It's the correct rolling contract (undiscounted) price.  (£15+£14)

A better price may be possible but would require a minimum term commitment.

Re: Out of Contract...

Until I know EXACTLY what I need in regards to TV entertainment etc, I'm happy with this price for now.  Main thing also, is the 31 day rolling contract 👍

Re: Out of Contract...

I've already got my blank A4 sheet of paper at the ready with two columns, to add the Pros & Cons of downgrading to Essentials.

Basically, I want to know what's going to bug the hell out of me and whether I can put up with it or not... we'll see 😂

Re: Out of Contract...

Wow, that was quick, it's like Sky flicked a switch and the expected channels have gone already, even my recorded Sky Channel programmes, but my Sky Movie purchases are still there😂

Checked on my account and a fair few credits, so that's welcome.

I'm expecting that to add ANYTHING to Sky Essentials in the future will mean taking a contract back out with them ?

You don't lose purchases.  You can even access them if you leave Sky completely...

I believe the only option for Essentials is multiroom.  Any other additions are likely to require Signature as a base package.  (You may be able to continue on a rolling basis but any discounts will require a 2 year minimum term)

Re: Out of Contract...

Yes, I think I could add Sky Ultimate on a 31 Day Rolling contract, with no discount, as you mentioned.

  • But if I did, I'd still be saving a fair few quid a month !!

Re: Out of Contract...

So, am I going crazy.

I looked on Sky at their packages and if I take out a 24 month contract, I can add full sky sports for £20 per month and sky movies for £10 per month.

So if add those to my new Essentials pack that's £29+£20+£10=£59 per month !!

So how come I wasn't offered ANYTHING like this when I was paying almost £90 per month WITHOUT the full sports.....I just can't get my head around Sky packages at all and it also depends on the experience of the Sky Advisor !!

I suppose I would have to include HD/UHD, but this would still be cheaper than my last contracted plan !!

I'm totally lost !!

You can't add those packs to Essentials.  You need Signature as a base package...

Re: Out of Contract...

It's like I said, it depends on the sky advisor and their experience.  She hadn't a clue when I mentioned Sky Signature!!

I certainly didn't get the best advice over the last few days.  If I did, I would have probably gladly signed a 24 month contract if I was offered something decent for a 25 year Sky veteran !!

True... But if they try and add a premium pack to Essentials then computer will say no... 🤣
