At this point, I'm genuinely wondering what benefit, if any, moving to Sky has been. I placed an order for Sky Broadband and TV on the 20th August, with an installation date of the 7th September. Plenty of time, you'd have thought, for any issues to be sorted before my installation. Openreach text me to say they were coming to do their bit, and although they didn't bother texting to let me know they were there I got a text saying they'd completed the works. Excellent.
Sky Engineer turned up yesterday, and showed me where Openreach had installed the outside box. Not on the outside of my flat, nor my next door neighbours, but a property on the otherside of the block. Probably, as suggested by the Sky Engineer, because it was a much easier pull through. I've now got to wait up to 8 days for Openreach to come and investigate and confirm (or contest) that they've put it in the wrong place, then book an engineer to move it, and then Sky can book an engineer to come out and finish the installation.
Whilst I understand the TV (or Stream or whatever it's called) is seperate to my Broadband contract, I wanted the two to start at the same time. I'm currently with Virgin, so once the switcheroo happens, I'd have no TV package, or I'd be paying for double. The, in fairness very helpful, customer services team member advised the best solution for this is to cancel my TV package, with assurances my deal would be honoured once it comes time to turn it all on.
What I forgot to mention to the Sky team member was that when I signed up, I also had a £75 voucher as part of the deal. No one I've yet been able to speak to can confirm, one way or the other, that I am still eligble for that £75. In fact, the person I spoke to earlier, suggested I'd not get a firm answer until after my broadband was installed and I'd re-ordered the TV element of it.
Can anyone advise whether I'm likely to still get the £75? I'm assuming not, but a confirmation would be good. Also, and I appriciate this might not be the right place to ask, how quickly do Openreach fix their mistakes? My Virgin package, from Wednesday next week, increases to £95 a month (from £41.50), so obviously that's going to cost me more daily, so a realistic time frame would be, as opposed to a "hopefully before the end of the month."
Honestly, at this point I'm questioning whether there was any point to moving and whether the £20 a month was actually worth it. (Logically, I know the answer to this but I'm so annoyed with this whole situation).

Just an update on this.
According to the Ts and Cs of the voucher, any changes to the deal, means the voucher will no longer be valid. Cheers Openreach. And as it's external promotional offer - nothing coming from Sky to compensate.
Openreach, to their credit, have already moved the junction box, and have booked an appointment to install the internal box on Thursday.
But to answer my question, in case anyone else has similar, the voucher won't be honoured!

Re: Openreach Mistake - Cost me £75 voucher?
Hi @Burribro This is very confusing, assuming that it is Full Fibre broadband, how did the Openreach engineer install your ONT inside your flat if you were not there?

Re: Openreach Mistake - Cost me £75 voucher?
Sorry if it wasn't clear, it wasn't the ONT box inside my property they've put in the wrong place, it's the junction box that's installed on the wrong property, meaning Sky couldn't install the ONT box inside yesterday because they couldn't connect to the junction box.

Re: Openreach Mistake - Cost me £75 voucher?
Im guessing that you are referring to the CSP ? this usually is above the ducting (if your services arrive via a duct) or on teh outside wall where your line enters. Can I please ask why you belive it was installed in the wrong place due to what the Sky engineer told Openraech ? as usually Openreach themsleves or their subcontractors install these.

Re: Openreach Mistake - Cost me £75 voucher?
The Sky Engineer showed me the different ducts that service the flats that I'm in. My neighbour above has had one installed from a duct and is actually installed on my outside wall. However, as suggested by the sky engineer, the ducting they've actually used is much closer to the initial connection. However it's too far for Sky to run a cable from the installed junction box into my property.

Maybe you could compalin to Sky as well as Openreach in that case, there are some cases in which you can complain dierctly to Openreach such as property damage.
