Moving home, temporary accomodation

Hi all.

I have recently moved out and into temp accomodation until my new house is ready, with no confirmed move in date as of yet. I have a few issues.

- the new owners of my home have applied for sky broadband, so I received a letter stating they intend to take over the broadband at the home etc. Does this cancel my contract?

- I do not have a move in date for my new home yet, so I cannot book a home move. What do I do?

- as it is a new build estate I am buying on, sky do not provide broadband etc. if the new owners of my previous home taking the lien over does not cancel my contract, what do I do as I have around a year left on my contract.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Rhys

@RhysG

If the new owners have placed a broadband order at your address then it will cancel what you have there already.

If you haven't got a date to move and therefore they haven't got a date to move in then it appears they have placed this order to soon so is there anyway you can get in touch with them about this to perhaps ask them to contact Sky to get it cancelled ?

Re: Moving home, temporary accomodation

Many thanks for the response!

I have moved out of the house already, I am now in temporary accommodation until my new home is ready. So the date they have put is correct etc.

It is my side now that I am confused about.

Will sky cancel my broadband payment etc? Or do I need to reach out to someone and go through all the details? I couldn't get through on the phone earlier.

Thank you again for the help, it is greatly appreciated!

If they are using the switching serice to move their broadband to your old address then this should cancel your account so if you  are in a contract there could be an early termination charge to pay and as bill s are created 14 days ahead of the billing date you might see one final bill.
