McAfee no account

Hi I have been paying for McAfee for a long time each month with Sky. When I last chatted with Sky I asked if I still needed it and they said they no longer offer it. I don't even have an account with McAfee so unsure if it's actually keeping anything secure. If I never actually had an account can I get refunded? I update my account every 18 months with sky.

@LauraB9 I'm not sure that you would necessarily have had a McAfee account, as the Sky offer, when it was available, was managed through Sky. If you had the McAfee Internet Security Suite installed, you will have been protected. I would think it highly unlikely that Sky would refund your past subscription payments.

Hi no still can't get in touch I sent a form then they rang when I was in work. Not overly bothered about refund just wondered. Just don't want to pay it if it's no use.

  • I don't remember having anything installed as I've never had a home computer just sky TV. Just don't understand if Sky don't use it anymore why they charge for it? They can't even cancel it for me.

Login to MySky here:

 

https://www.sky.com/myaccount/bb-and-talk
Select Manage > Broadband and Talk > Broadband Shield.
Scroll down and click the McAfee logo.
Click Manage McAfee subscription.
Click Manage my subscription and follow the onscreen prompts.

Third party antivirus is no longer needed as Win 10 & 11 come with Defender which is on par with paid software. I would cancel McAffee & use their uninstaller to cleanly remove the software.
