I have been with SKY many, many years but am I been treatked unfairly by the "Loyalty Penalty" I just lloked at their website and a NEW customer can get Broadband cheaper than I'm paying now, is that legal? It certainly is ufair, customer services thats the way it is, they offered me a slight discount for a new 24month contact (they dont do 12 month contarcts anymore!!) Looking at switching now.

Entirely legal: the only business sector specifically forbidden from doing this by its regulator is car and home insurance.

Re: Loyalty Penalty
Perfectly legal and now the norm. All companies do this to attract new customers. If you move to another provider on an 18/24 month minimum term deal, when that term finishes you'll find yourself in the same position and you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from a new customer deal.

Re: Loyalty Penalty
You're being treated the same way as any other existing customer. As with every other provider only customers new to Sky get new customer discounts.
Switching to another provider is certainly an option. Be prepared to do the same thing once your initial discounted period with a new provider comes to an end.
