@pioplolo wrote:Have to say that's one well written reply and your right I don't have to pay 76 quid for sky as I cancelled my contract and went over to virgin but my question still stands what do you think fair value for 1 sky sports
2 sky movies
3 all the other sky channels excluding the above two I know you can get all the above plus Netflix for 35 quid which is fair value but why does sky want 76 quid from long standing customers like me surely it's better to get 35 quid from me as the cost is zero I already have the equipment it's only beaming the signal to me which cost nothing simply doesn't make good business sense
Besides the already stated 'new customer attraction' that statement from you is so naive it's not worth further comment.

@pioplolo wrote:I disagree that virgin won't do me a deal when my two years are up iv been with them 20 years and every time they put up my broadband I phoned to cancel and they fixed the price at my old price for broardband being paying the same price for years in fact when I signed up to the TV package I complained that they where doing a better deal for new customers and they reduced my cost so I now pay 68 quid for 1 GB volt full sky TV with sports and Netflix in three rooms my old cost was 40 quid for broadband and 76 quid for the TV package so at the minute I'm a happy chappie I think in two years it will be even cheaper as there will be even more competition as BT gets fibre optic in my area Elon musk has launch sky net or what ever it's called and Amazon will entre the market at some point when that happens bye bye sky the only reason I'm with virgin is the speed of ever other supplier is **bleep** once there are 3 or four suppliers giving 1 GB the price will drop massively
So you claim you're paying £40 for VM 1Gbps broadband and have been paying that for 20 years? Never had an annual price rise?
They won't change their pricing once FTTP is in your area either, it'll be the same price everywhere else in the country, although you will be able to get a new customer discount from an ISP on the OR infrastructure.
Starlink charge £80 a month for their "Max" package which is "Upto 400Mbps" but even they state is typically 170-320Mbps with upload Speeds: 20-40 Mbps. Amazon are at least 18 months away from full general sale and will probably cost similar.
If you're in an area where your choices are limited, 4G/5G broadband would prove better value although latency would rule it out for gamers.

Re: Lost the plot
One futher point though are paying virgin now for your tv as that subscription Sky still get some of your subscription money as though virgin you getting Sky sports. Virgin don't get to supply you Sky sport free of Charge, no virgin have to pay Sky to get the carrage right to show that service on there platform there for some your subscription will go to Sky to pay for that part of virgin subscription.
