Long term customers ignored

I pay £80 pm for sky with cinema no sports or anything else £60 pm for broadband and £20 pm for glass tv , I have been with sky 5 years and been out of contact for a few months as it will cost an additional £15pm to renew.
I called sky about the cost they said sorry no offers available and would I like to cancel

you would think they would want customer retention!!

@Paulsteven

Not sure what you are asking but if they will not offer you a discount then cancelling and going elsewhere is something to do to get their introductory offers but once you are past the minim,um term on this you might find you have the same issue.

@Paulsteven

If you've been out of contract for a few months that means you're paying the standard undiscounted prices. Although worthwhile discounts are now harder to come by surely committing to another 24 month deal will come with discounts bringing your current price down.

Hi @Paulsteven    They are only interested in new customers, they have already had your money.

Re: Long term customers ignored

@Paulsteven I suggest that you vote with your feet (wallet) and see who can offer you the best price for what you want.

Sky is not the only broadband provider and as for TV, you might find Now TV (still Sky) is a bit cheaper with no long contracts.

You mention being with Sky 5 years, but that appears to mean nothing to Sky.

Other customers mentioning they are platinum or diamond level customers,  but if you can't get the same price as a new customer, I'd be  looking elsewhere.

Sky Stream
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices

@Paulsteven

Getting a discount that'll take you near a new customer deal is unrealistic I'm afraid.

@Daniel0210 "....  Getting a discount that'll take you near a new customer deal is unrealistic I'm afraid."

Agreed... which is why I suggest customers vote with their money for cheaper prices for a similar level of service.

Having said this, my broadband provider Aquiss is  not the cheapest (£55 pm) and I could have moved after 12 months to a cheaper  ISP.

I have not voted with my wallet because  their service has been exceptional for the past 3 years

  • no outages
  • consistently fast speeds at all times of day
  • customer service is fast & knowledgeable

With my partner and I often working from home, I cannot risk chasing a cheaper ISP which may not be as reliable.

ps... Aquiss offer new customer discounts if you stay with them for 36 months minimum

I live in a village so we are very restricted on providers here

Re: Long term customers ignored

@Paulsteven you have Sky Glass so I assume your broadband/ WiFi is sufficient for operating your Sky Glass. Whether you have FTTC of FTTP  for your broadband, you should still have choices for your ISP provider.

Having said this, I would possibly stick with Sky for the broadband and look elsewhere for the TV subscriptions e.g. Now TV with a Firestick or Roku et al.

Now TV with Ultra Boost has Atmos sound, but I do not know if that will work with the Glass sound output.

Lots to consider
