Joining from Virgin

Hi,

I'm joining Sky from Virgin, both TV and Broadband, and I have just tried disconnecting my TV package with Virgin as Sky TV will be installed tomorrow, although Broadband will be installed on the 28th of January. Virgin advised that they will disconnect all services once Sky confirm to them that the services have been installed. Is what Virgin has advised correct? I have read else where that the automatic switching usually apples to broadband.

Additionally, the reason why I want Virgin  TV disconnected now is to avoid paying an extra months bill as the 20th is my bill cut off date, but I'm happy to carry on the broadband until later in the month once Sky broadband is set up. I'm just wondering if they are avoiding disconnecting TV to get another months payment. I'm currently out of my contract with Virgin, so regardless of the dates that I'm switching to Sky, I would have thought if I request Virgin to have TV disconnected, then they should fulfil that request?

Thanks!

@bobby_coles  Virgin has given you wrong information one touch switch only covers broadband and definitely excludes tv

You are correct as it does not apply to TV so you what need to cancel this with Virgin yourself.
