Do Sky call from 0800 numbers?

I am suspicious as they would not speak to me despite me being on account as person who can deal with account

They are known to call from 0800 numbers. While you might be someone on the account that should be able to talk to them, the fact they refused to for whatever reason does suggest it probably was Sky calling you.

The account holder perhaps needs to call Sky through the official numbers to see if it really was Sky and what they wanted.

That is not number Sky have given me as there incoming call number that I have put in my contacts list. If that number called me it would not get through my phone screening system and would be blocked as possible scam call.

Posts including phone numbers other than 150 are usually removed until moderation by staff.

@smc381 it's not known to be a Sky number. But in all honesty, you can't rely on the number alone as an indication of authenticity. A phone number can be easily 'spoofed' by scammers to make it look as though it's a genuine Sky number.

@smc381 It's more likely to be a genuine call than an attempt to scam you, the reason I say that is a scammer wouldn't care it's not your account they would still try to run their script to get enough details to order devices.

The number Sky Virtual Assistant gives you is not the number I was called from hence why I wondered if called I had was a scam/

I agree with the reasoning from @daveNOS so give Sky a call, explain to them what happened and the number used and see what they say.
