Is this a scam?

Hi,

 

I just received this email.  Is it a scam?

I don't know anyone called Kennedy and I haven't referred anyone to Sky!

It's just weird that they got my first name right.

@Jeanne1812  Given it addresses you by name and names the person who shared a sign up link (which i presume is the way you signed up to Sky?) it would appear genuine.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

It sounds like it is from the Refer a Friend program so did you or Kennedy use a referral link as per this when you/they joined Sky:

I joined a month ago at a local mall, where they had a tiny office in the middle of the central walkway, and I don't know anyone called Kennedy.  I've never referred a friend at all.

Not sure why it would have triggered the referral scheme but could Kennedy be the person you were speaking with and who signed you up at the Sky stand?

Hi - yes, good thinking! That's a real possibilty.  I'll click on it to claim, but will be careful if it asks for bank details, etc.  Thanks so much for your input!
