Impossible to speak to a real person. It is incredibly frustrating dealing with Sky.
I have tried multiple avenues to speak with a person. The virtual agent does not give an option to speak with anybody. It is an incredibly frustrating experience.

What have you tried doing when the bot asks you to go online or receive a text, you could try saying nothing or perhaps say just No, have you tried either of these ?

thanks for the advice. I let the bot go on for about 3 mins without saying anything; it just kept repeating the request for my phone number. When I give my phone number, it just sends an SMS and ends the call... Managed to get in contact with someone on Whatsapp of all things.
