Not sure about the early cancellation charges - I have an idea it will be £60 for Sky Sports.

You always have to have the base Signature package for any additional, optional Sky TV package so if Sky don't allow you to cancel Sky Sports etc early, you'll have to pay for Sky Signature too, until your contract expires.

Re: I want to downgrade my package

I have spoken to a Sky rep on the phone about cancelling Sky Sports which is out of contract on 28th August. I told him today, 1st August, that I wished to give 30 days notice to cancell Sky Sports, which takes it past the contract end date. According to the Sky web site, the 30 days notice cannot end before the contract end date without incurring penalties. Fair enough, my 30 days notice goes past the end of my contract by 2 days. Well it would appear that is not how it works.

He said the 30 days notice can only be given AFTER the contract ends, to which I replied that it would then mean I pay for an extra month, which I don't want, after my contract ends.

It is a total rip off and when I have finished my contract I am gone from Sky for good after 15 years.

Re: I want to downgrade my package

I rang up to downgraded my sky wanted sky movies removing.    Only just found out by looking at the bill that I have been charged 10pound for downgrading. Wasn't even informed about this on the phone call to sky. This can't by right.  Absolutely disgusting

Sky does charge these fees now so if you were not informed about it then call them again to register a complaint. Give them the date and time you spoke to them so they can listen to what was said to you.

The contract is clear that you can be charged for removing such packages.

However, as noted above, if you weren't advised at the time then you can complain and see if they'll credit it.
