How is this even legal?
After downgrading my package because I don't need kids tv and a bunch of other stuff, I now find that the ONLY way I can watch Netflix now is to connect it to my Sky account. Where I am now at the mercy of yet more arbitrary price increases. This company truly is disgraceful. Why do I keep having to take action in order to carry on using services I've bought from someone else?

How so? Signing into the Netflix app on Sky hardware (Q, Glass or Stream) which has an Ultimate TV subscription will link that particular Netflix account to Sky billing: a Netflix app anywhere else doesn't do this.
If you are saying you want to use a Netflix app on Sky hardware but have an unlinked Netflix account then the somewhat clumsy workaround is to sign in initially with credentials for a Netflix account you aren't then going to use going forward.

Re: How is this even legal?
@Anonymousyou can unlink the Netflix account and subscribe directly with them.
Perhaps if you are out of contract, you can give notice to leave.

How do you mean you are for to link your Netflix to Sky? Are you being charge by Sky for it if so why can you not tell them to remove it from your account. If you are on Sky stream or glass yes Netflix is included in you package with extra charge. But you don't have to use it you can still subscribe to Netflix direct if you want pan do not have to link it Sky If your Netflix account is not actuly linked to your Sky account going to the Netflix app on any other device other than your Sky box and logging on you will be greeted with a screen to set up a payment method or if you had previously had set up a payment method on Netflix it will try and use that one, if for some reason that payment method is out of date you will again be prompted to set up another one. You should also be able to go to netfilx web site bd set up you Netflix account onthere. You should then be able to watch Netflix on other device you want.

Yes it is. Netflix have downgraded my plan, and are refusing to upgrade it telling me Sky now own it. I am sick of paying more and more year on year for everything to be worse.

That particular username/password combination may well be linked to Sky billing: this isn't quite the same as 'ownership'. To upgrade Netflix billed through Sky requires going through Sky Marketplace but the works on any Netflix app instance.

Netflix increase their pricing independently of Sky or any other partner.

Re: How is this even legal?
What Netflix account do you with Sky and importantly what tv package with do you have with Sky. If you are on Sky stream or glass the basic Netflix with ads is part of your package at no extra cost and yes that part can't be removed if you have a higher tier you can change that in Sky marketplace so you can just have the free one. If you are have Sky Q then basic Netflix with ads is a charable extra called ultra tv package and the high tier are call boosts unlike Sky stream on SKY Q Netflix is actually part of your Sky tv package and is add to your normal Sky bill. However in this case with SkyQ if you are not in a minimum term with any of this you can cancel both the ultimate tv pack and the boost giving 31 days notice. Once cancelled and notice served your Netflix account will reset back to Netflix direct.
