...and there's no phone number apart from a premium rate one (£3.60 an effing minute!!!)

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSky do not use premium rate numbers as calls to their 03 numbers are charged as local calls so if you have free minutes then the call is free. If you have Sky Mobile or Sky Talj then call Sky is also free on the 150 (just that) number.

Sky TV
~ If you want to cancel it completely, and you’re out of contract, you’ll need to give the required notice of 31 days. Be aware the latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you cannot cancel within a minimum term deal unless Sky agree to it. If they agree you’ll end up paying off the rest of the discounted term in one payment.
Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.
If you cancel correctly you should receive a confirmation email from Sky.
If you’re cancelling Sky Q totally don’t forget to keep you proof of posting indefinitely when you return the box(es). Return packaging will be sent out towards the end of your notice period.
______
Sky Broadband and Sky Talk
~ To cancel totally, or if you’re moving to a provider like Virgin Media who don’t use the Openreach set up, you'll have to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days, but if you are still in the initial 18 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges. This link may help https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband
If you are changing to another provider who also uses the Openreach infrastructure then join up with them and they should contact Sky on your behalf.
You’ll need to return any loaned router to Sky, so it’s important you get proof of posting and keep it indefinitely. Return packaging will be sent out to you near the end of the notice period.

You may find a search engine will return a premium rate (09x) number - DO NOT USE THEM. As above, Sky's actual number begins 03x which is a 'standard' call included in many call packages.
