Help with a Contract query please.

Good Afternoon,

I rang Sky on the 4th September to cancel 'Sky Cinema'.

I eventually got through and spoke to a young lady who did all she could to get me to increase my monthly payments when all I wanted to do was reduce them as we are paying at present £167.00 a month ( far too much) I eventually got my point across .

Unfortunately I had terrible trouble understanding her and she also spoke way too fast. She said she was emailing a form to sign which I thought was for the request to cancel Sky Cinema. I duly signed this form but only then did I realise that she had just got me to sign a 24month new contract just to cancel sky cinema and she was also cancelling Netflix which I hadn't even mentioned in any conversation. I asked immediately to be put through to speak to someone I could understand to cancel this new contract. I spoke to a 'Jalel' which i know means absolutely nothing. He assured me that they would cancel the new contract I had been tricked into and just cancel Sky Cinema leaving the original contract and Netflix as it was. Lo and behold I looked at my contract when I got off the phone and for days later and it says im signed up for another 24 months!

This is a scandalous way to operate....we have been Sky customers for 35 years and to be conned into another contract is disgraceful practise.

Any help anybody can offer will be greatly appreciated.

@MaggieT56 I would suggest raising a complaint, giving the dates you spoke with Sky. They'll be able to refer back to the recordings of the conversations.
