Hacking

I received email stating email is being closed down contacted sky I was told contact my bank and I stopped my cards and yes bank had been hacked funds funds taken but back given than back 

Why is this happening

Because it seems like you either clicked on a link within the scam email or otherwise divulged banking details to the scammers.

On what basis do you think there's a connection between this email and your bank account being hacked? The only possible connection I can think of is that you used the same login details for both your email account and your bank account, and you gave then away in the way @Daniel0210 described.

@marion+sharp  As indicated by previous replies it seems you may have inadvertently provided such info by clicking on the link in the email?

 

You need to be aware of such scams and need to protect yourself.

 

I would recommend reading this very useful info  https://stopthinkfraud.campaign.gov.uk/  to protect yourself in the future and how to report any scams.

 

I good Antivirus/Security protection for your device is a must.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
