I have the option of the 24 month fixed contract.
If I decide to take it does that mean that when some of my offers end I cannot take out another offer I.e. reduced

Fixed contracts are very very rare. Your subscription would still be subject to the annual price increase each April for starters.

Re: Fixed 24 month contract
If that's the case it's not a fixed contract?!
May I ask do you have fixed or a rolling contract?
The figures they have given me jump in 6mths time as one of my offers ends. It goes up by £15. I'm confused as it says it's for Sky TV too but the figures they give only appear to be Broadband and Talk.

Re: Fixed 24 month contract
I understand that. That's a little offensive.
I was asking advice and just wondered what you had and if you had experience with a fixed contract.
Thanks anyway

Re: Fixed 24 month contract
@Toni2 It's fixed in the sense you have to stay in it for 24 months. You can't cancel penalty free within that time.

Re: Fixed 24 month contract
No. My discounts are for a set time (24months) during which the annual price increase applies and then I contact Sky to negotiate a new discount.

Correct the contracts aren't fixed in price. What is fixed is in-contract discounts however they may not necessarily last the full legnth of the contract for example you may often find deals where the first 3 months or 6 months of a component is free or half price before it rises for the remainder of your minimum term.
Once a year Sky have the option to raise the standard list prices which is reflected in peoples bills as the discount is a fixed price off of the list price.

Re: Fixed 24 month contract
I have been offered fixed price for 24 month contracts by agents twice now. I have been with sky for years and so know that normally the offers are fixed discounts from the package price and therefore you will get the annual increase each year.
However, I was very very clear on the calls and the agent specifically offered fixed prices for 24 months. On my broadband I had to get Sky to go back and pull the call recording up as they put my price up. After listening to the agent they have honoured a fixed price for me.
If offered a fixed price, you have to be very clear, is this a fixed discount that is being offered, or is it a fixed price ?
