Financial Difficulty - Request to downgrade
I lost my job 12 months ago. I have been asking for over 12 months to reduce my package/cancel. I have been with Sky for 16 years, but I keep getting told I cannot reduce my spend because I am in contract. Then they finally agree to reduce my costs after I complain or they reduce my cost via upgrades. I have found I am bound by a 24 month contract despite telling them for 12 months I cannot afford it. Please help.

Re: Financial Difficulty - Request to downgrade
It's a little unclear from your post, are you saying Sky eventually allowed you to reduce your package but the 24 month period restarted? If so that's usually.
Unfortunately the latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. (If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term).
When you initially signed up or renewed, your monthly discounted payments were calculated based on you agreeing to pay for the full term.

@frankerexchange sadly you don't get something for nothing.
On Sky's part they've agreed a discount on their standard price for you. On your part you commit to it for a fixed period.
It's the way all providers operate.
