Extortionate bill

I am on holiday in Jamaica .. read all the text messages about charges .. my normal bill is £56 ... I have been charged £240 ... this is ridiculous it actually feels like I have been robbed .. the explanation about spend caps etc are just not at an easy level to understand.... I will take this all the way as this is scandalous fleecing of monies

@Trevor40 Your duplicate thread has been removed

  The costs of calls and Text in another country are freely available to customers on the website. https://static.skyassets.com/contentstack/assets/blt7f2b03fd02c7fe60/blt94039f0721289edb/67768779eed...

Failure to be aware of such charges is your error, threats to take the issue further won't absolve you of the charges you accrued

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

The charges are:

£2.16 per minute Calls to local or UK mobile and landline numbers

£1.80 per minute to receive calls

£0.50 per text message to UK numbers and mobiles

£0.58 per picture message(MMS)

All available via the tariff guide

@Trevor40

Unfortunately that represents only about 100Mb of data, which a mobile can consume in a few minutes on background tasks, let alone anything actually instigated by a user.  Letting a phone with data switched on near a cellular network in any country not covered by £2 per day 'roaming' is just incredibly expensive, and in the Caribbean only the handful of European overseas territories have £2 roaming.
