@Lamb74 - Sorry no idea I have left Sky too expensive compared to BT/EE - Happy with what we have now - I was with Sky for a very long time but loyality doesn't mean alot anymore - I know they offer all this stuff on VIP to be honest have never used - Happy to pay a lower amount for our tv package - Disappointed they never came anywhere near matching our price with BT/EE - If they did I would have stayed

You are on a new customer deal with your new supplier - you'll probably find the same situation when that contract ends... (The best prices are always for 'new' customers nowadays)

So disappointed with Sky and their treatment of loyal customers. I have been with Sky for over a decade and have reached platinum customer status but this brings no benefit. 
I have just contacted Sky and the first customer service rep was so rude and just kept saying prices and saying inflations is the reason my bill went up? She wouldn't let me speak to any other department when I asked so hung up and rang back 3 people later I got £1 off my bill and they said they wouldn't charge me a £20 admin fee for recontracting my Sky signature, broadband and phone ? Do not recommend I now pay £50 for superfast plus and new customers get it for £16 !! Feel ripped off and felt like the customer service team could not give a monkeys about getting exsisting customers to stay with Sky. I have a 14 day cooling off period in which I will be looking for alternatives for all my subscriptions. I also have my mobile with them which is up for renewal and won't be staying with them on this occasion. **bleep** poor customer retention efforts will continuously drive the loyal away.

Most, if not all providers do this now. Your length of tenure with Sky doesn't necessarily influence renewal prices. From recent posts on here it does seem that decent deals are increasingly hard to find. If you choose to leave the same will happen at the end of your discounted deal with whoever you go with. Once you've been away for 18 months you'll be able to rejoin and benefit from new customer discounts.

@Heathers yep, just been thtpough the mil with them. Phoned ove a week ago and got a decent price i said i would think aboiut whilst i checked other broadband packagaes. Hee wrote it on the notes in my account.

Phoned today and got a pasd from pillar to post! 2nd guy, strong, not UK, accent offered to reduce my bill by £6, ignored the fact I told him i didnt want Ultimate Tv or Broadband boost (both just a con) and tried to sweeten the deal by offering two cinema ticksts amonth. Its a 50 mile round trip to the nearest cinema! Eventially got put trhough to someone i could understand and who understood what I wanted. 

In the end managed to get nealry £28 off my bill but nowhere near a "new customer deal" despite being with them decades.  Even he admkitted they are frustrated with management ideas and that they cannoy offer better deals.  

To much grief just now to cvhange but i told him that I'll be better prepeared when the contract comes near end next time. They admitted that cancellations are climbing!

@Heathers @Rothie15 I have recently left after 25  years  as I was fed up with trying to get a "deal" every time the last one expired and I do not want to sign up to a 2 year deal and get 2 price rises within contract. I have gone another route with Apple TV and  and I am saving in the region of £80 per month that does not include Broadband as I moved that in March after the increases then and got a much better deal saving another £10 a month and getting fibre at 500Mb against Sky "superfast" at 70Mb.

If you want to go the sky model I would play them at thier own game and change providers each time your contract is up. Move to Virgin or EE now then back to Sky in 2 years, if all customers did that they would have to look at the model they use again.

i switched from skt to BT to save £55 a month with the same package as sky + tnt sports, great i thought 1 year later worst decision i made BT / EE need to get their acrt together as now it is like watching telly in the 80's stalling, not loading, freezing up absolute rubbish, they even sent me some booster boxes rubbish !!!!!!!

...and BT's annual price rise is higher than Sky's....

Just started the so called re contract negotiations . As a 18 year platinum member you would assume deals would be available ,not any more by looks of this thread. I have the uhd sports and sig pack with 500mb bb with boost . New estimate £160 pm. After 40mins of rep attemting to peddle sky cinema to me and other additions i gave up. Best price was £112 still way above my target . Looking at U Switch I would love to get the 500mb bb deal for £31 or even with the stream for £44 . However best they could do this for was £71 with the channels . Going to attempt one last call today and ask for BB only as im now really dissapointed with lack of customer loylaty offers atm. Think its time to say adios to Sky.
