Ex customer credi

I left sky in May 2025. A few days ago I received an email from sky saying I am due a credit with a ph number to contact. Rather than ph the number I called sky customer services direct who confirmed I was due a refund and I had to answer some security questions and supply my sort code and account number to receive the refund. My bank contacted me as rather than send my refund the sky advisor set up a direct debit on my account and while talking to my bank I was informed the direct debit set up was made for sky to take money from my bank and should not have been set up to receive a refund. My bank has therefore cancelled the direct debit so no money would be taken from my bank and told me to contact sky to ask why this direct debit was set up without my authorisation to ask for another way to issue my refund as it does not require a direct debit set up to receive a credit refund

@Tartanvon

Sky are sending these emails out to customers who have cancelled their subscription and have also cancelled there payment method. Some of these customers have since moved address.

If you wish, we can escalate your post to Skys Community Messaging Team. They can either reinstate your payment method to refund you in 3-5 working days (which is presumably what your bank queried) or arrange a back office team to raise and send out a cheque to your address which obviously takes much longer.

Let us know on this thread if you wish to do this confirming it's still showing as a credit on your Sky account.
