Email telling me I've upgraded Netflix??

I don't use Netflix and certainly haven't requested an upgrade for £11 a month. Why am I receiving this email?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

If you’re not already aware this is a customer helps customer forum and you aren’t contacting Sky Customer Services.

Who has supposedly sent this email to you? Are you sure it's not a scam?

Hi Daniel, thanks for the reply.

The email is genuine and sent from "sky@notifications.contact.sky".

Is it possible somebody in your home knows your Sky PIN? They may have upgraded on your behalf via the TV menu.

Nah, it's only me and the wife.

Unless the dog has gained sentience.

...you never know.

I recommend calling Sky and explaining that you didn't ask for this.

You can use the Sky Help portal to contact Sky. If you want to speak to somebody, you can click "Need more help?" at the bottom, and within that content you will see a phone number (we can't post phone numbers in this community).

There was a feature on Morning Live this morning presented by Nick Stapleton.

It involved a gentleman whose Netflix subscription suddenly changed fro £4.99 to £17.

It was determined that his Netflix account had been hacked and his subscription changed. The Netflix accoun did not appear to be linked with Sky.

Further investigations by Nick showed that his account had been upgraded to Premium so that the hackers could sell access to the account via the web. Pages were shown showing various accounts being used .

Netflix were contacted but no further information was available. but the website listing the hacked data sales were removed.

The gentleman featured closed his Netflix account.

Another topic relating to this mentioned was the lack of 2FA by Netflix amongst others.

An interesting feature.
