Double charge

I have been charged twice for my sky tv bill one charge was a manual charge and the other was direct debit

So you were charged once, but paid twice. When your Sky account shows you're in credit, you can request a refund from Sky or leave the credit to be used against next month's bill.

 

Its best not to make manual payments as they won't necessarily prevent the automated direct debit being charged as well.

When you have a direct debit set up there is no need to make a manual payment as you have done because if you do this to close to your billing date then it is to late to stop the payment being taken via the direct debit.

 

As you have made a manual payment you should now see a credit on your account that can either be left to pay your next bill or can be refunded to you and at present you will have to contact Sky yourself about this.
