Damaged dish

My sky dish is hanging off the roof but still attached. Can it be removed entirely as my handyman said I no longer need it as it is all done via the Internet (I'm not technically minded).

...the quickest way to find out whether you need a dish or not is to turn your TV on and try and watch Sky channels.

If you get 'No satellite signal' then you do need a dish.

Re: Damaged dish

@Standhill If you are a Sky Stream or Sky Glass customer then it is correct that you no longer need the dish and it can be removed if it's a danger.

If you are a Sky+ or Sky Q customer then your handyman is wrong and you need to ask Sky about fixing it.

@Standhill

If you don't have Sky Q or Sky+ then yes, you or the handyman can remove it.

@Standhill  Please be aware Sky themselves won't remove it so will be down to you to employ the services of your handyman or a local installer to remove the dish.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Damaged dish

The sky dish is still attached so I'm watching through that although it's hanging off the roof! Just wondered if I can remove it all together but it appears not

The dish has to be pointing in exactly the right direction in order to receive a signal from the satellite. Your description of it hanging off the roof would make that unlikely.

Re: Damaged dish

It's literally held on with a piece of rope but I'm still receiving Sky so I don't know!
