Contract ending

Ive been a Sky customer for 27 years, and coming to the end of my current Sky Q contract next month.

I want to reduce my subscription price but not  change my package if I can help it.

Are there any good deals to be made keeping my Sky Q subscription or are there better deals to be had moving to Sky Stream with a similar package, and yes i do know all about the differences between the two lol.

I will be calling them up in a couple weeks, i just wanted to be prepared.

Thanks

No simple answer I'm afraid.  Many have reported deals on Q difficult to obtain but deals are still out there if you're lucky.

Moving to Stream may get better discounts but until you call...

@Sparkymatt100

If your discounted minimum term (not your contract) has ended or its ending soon the best new discounts are still normally acquired by contacting Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will require a new 24 month minimum term contract.

’Significant’ discounts seem harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back. Also remember you’re not a new Sky customer so don’t expect anything on a par to a new customer deal.

See this link…

If you decide it’s no longer value for money and you’re thinking of changing providers remember that at the end of their minimum term you'll be in the same position with that company at which point you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from the new customer discounts available at that particular time.

Re: Contract ending

Update on this.....

I called up Sky this morning to see what deals they could do for me. To keep on Sky Q, the cheapest they could do for me was only £20 less than full price and over £30 more than what I was paying with discounts.

Told them not acceptable, so she came back with changing to Sky Glass £102 a month and keeping existing packs. I don't need another TV so asked about Sky Stream. She came back with £123 a month like for like package. I questioned how can Glass be cheaper than Stream with the included TV? She said it was becasue the TV came with ad skipping as standard whereas Stream was an added extra. Not £20 a month it isn't, but he ho.

I told her I am not paying that and asked to cancel. Got put through to cancelation team who relooked at what they could do. To keep the same Sky package, he got it to just £109 which is £6.50 more than I was paying. Then he looked at my broadband and reduced that by another £7 if I upgraded from 300 to 500mb Full Fibre. so all told, I have recontracted for another 24 months on Sky Q for just an extra £2 a month.

@Sparkymatt100

Glad you managed to negotiate something acceptable. I told you the discounts were harder to come by.

Re: Contract ending

Im just surprised there were no discounts on Sky Stream unless I took Sky Glass which I have no need for another sub standard TV. She wouldnt budge on Stream price at all.

I'm surprised by the load of old nonsense they were telling you about the price difference between Glass and Stream and using ad-skipping as the excuse. The actual TV package cost should be the same whether it's Glass or Stream as its all the same package ( and you can mix and match Glass and Stream on the same subscription).
