Charges for returned equipment

I returned my sky broadband equipment through royalmail. I kept the receipt, as advised, until I received a confirmation email that my equipment was in its way to Sky, from Sky. Now they are charging me for equipment and asking for my tracking number. Surely they must have a tracking number to have sent this email. Now I dont't have the receipt anymore. Any help please?

@Rachel_48

When you return the equipment it is aways advisable to keep the receipt for at least 6 months as sadly you do have to prove that it has been returned but having the email will help you to do this so I would get in touch with them to let them know that while you do not have the tracking details you do have this thanks email from Sky.

One other possible thing, via your web browser can you find the tracking on the royal mail website if you go through your web browsers history or if you start to type in the royalmail.com address in the address bar ?

Re: Charges for returned equipment

Thanks caesarome.

They originally were insisting on a tracking number but have now agreed to drop the charges.
