Charged £200 for roaming
I am currently in albania and my data has not been working for a single second. But on my bill it says I have £200 in roaming charges, which is nonsense as I literally haven't been able to access the data.

Re: Charged £200 for roaming
@FaithB82 Your phone has obviously connected to a local mast and used some data otherwise you wouldn't have been charged, Albania falls under "Rest of the World" for roaming and it wouldn't take alot of data(just under 100mb) to run up a £200+ bill.

Re: Charged £200 for roaming
Albania is £2.16 per MEG of data, it's likely the small amount (<100MB) has been used in background tasks etc. before you realised.
Do you have a spendcap set?

Re: Charged £200 for roaming
no spend cap, because ive never seen such an extortionate rate for roaming data. £2.19 per MB? How is that even morally acceptable? Is there a way I can get a refund because none of that data was used for anything meaningful.. just background activities like you said

@FaithB82 If the data was used then you will have to pay for it, it doesn't matter that the data was only used by apps in the background.

The 'rest of world' data rate on my BT Mobile SIM is over £7 per megabyte...
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

I'd always recommend setting a paycap - to a level of expectation.
You can call Sky (on 150) and see if they are prepared to offer any goodwill but the charges appear to have been incurred and Sky are billed by the local cellular network. FWIW I think the rates are scandalous but are largely set by the local network.
